I've noticed the disparity of women learning Esperanto, and I'd like to do a little bit more research on the subject. If there is a need and demand for, I would like to consider beginning an Esperantist women's association (I've been searching and I don't think that there's one that exists). I'm not sure how to go about this, but I'd like to start by collecting some more information.
I'd appreciate if you would respond to my survey, whether you're male or female, and share it with fellow Esperantists.
Dankon!

I admit, that my experience of the community is limited. Keeping that in mind I've noticed, that in many meetings the most over-represented demographic group is old ladies. And moreover anyone less than forty is an exception. Of course this doesn't promise good for the movement, that aims for "fina venko" for all. I hope my sample is biased. It might also be, that on internet forums men dominate the discussion and are more visible, but that doesn't necessary apply to all esperantists as a group.
There are women's associations on many branches, i.e. almost all political parties have one. This has had a consequence, that issues, that are traditionally considered to be of interest to women (family, health, gender etc. issues) have often been assigned to them and thus have fallen out of agenda for "all people" associations. Whether this means a more focused take on issues or a marginalisation of those issues, is a very good question.
I believe more in action groups or networks within existing associations, that already de facto have the power. For instance if there is something you want UEA to do, form Ina Aga Grupo (or whatever you want to call it) and make it lobby UEA-delegitoj or whoever you think can bring about the change.
