Mi volas traduki Pokemonajn ludojn en esperanto. Cxu iu volas helpi min en tradukado de la paroladoj?

Oŝo-Jabe (Montri la profilon) 2009-julio-11 13:23:47

Mi volas helpi vin, Airon90.

I want to help you, Airon90.

On the topic of Pokemon and Esperanto, would there be anyone out there that would want to help translate the Pokemon anime from Japanese into Esperanto? (I should probably put this on the Esperanto board, by I'm not nearly good enough to know how to phrase it.)

Zafur (Montri la profilon) 2009-julio-14 23:18:26

It might also be worth asking on the Japanese boards... I'd help, but I don't really know any Japanese.

You could translate from English to Esperanto too, although while not as close to the original it's still an option. Also, are you considering a fan dub or sub?

Zafur (Montri la profilon) 2009-julio-20 05:40:14

Maybe if not from the dub, which I think most people would probably want to avoid, there's always the option of obtaining English subs from another group and getting permission to use those to translate.

Also. How much need is there for the special characters to show up in the translation of the game?

Sorry for the double post...
Okay so I'm starting to work on hacking LeafGreen, as I heard the GBA gen is the easiest to hack, and FR/LG are the easiest of those.
Since I'm new to hacking and am basically using a tool to do the work for me, it's unlikely I'll be able to get the special characters into the game. If I do manage to get them recognized by the game, I'd want to make them show up in the naming screens. It is also unlikely that I'll be able to do a full translation for things that aren't dialog, such as any words that appear on background objects, etc.
I'll try to do a full translation if I can, but my current focus is translating all the dialog for now. I can always go back and edit the text later if I'm able to add the extra characters.

Not only am I a newbie at hacking, but I also am with Esperanto, which is why I'm taking on this project in the first place. Interesting way to practice. I'd like to double check translations.
Any help on making them shorter (or with hacking the game!) will be helpful, as sometimes the game cuts off text.
Sorry for any n00b errors. :3

"The various buttons will be explained in
the order of their importance."
La diversajn botunojn eksplikos en la ordo de graveco.

La diversaj botunoj estos eksplikata per graveco -- 'per graveco' might not be right, wait for someone elses help on that one

"Moves the main character.
Also used to choose various data
headings."
Movas la ĉefa rolulon.
Alkaŭ elektas diversajn meterialajn titolojn.

Not sure if it's 'movas' or 'movi'.
Ankaŭ uzata por elekti diversajn materialajn titolojn (my dictionary says 'dateno' for 'data' but that may be wrong)

"Used to confirm a choice, check
things, chat, and scroll text."
Konfirmas elekton, kontrolas aĵojn, babili, rulumi tekston.

Uzata por konfirmi elekton..... not sure about 'konfirmi' there.

"Used to exit, cancel a choice,
and cancel a mode."
Eleri, renonci elekton kaj modon.

Uzata por eliri, nuligi/renonci elektoon kaj nuligi modon

"Press this button to open the
MENU."
Ŝtancu ĉi tion butonon aperti la MENUO.

Don't know about 'ŝtancu', but it should be 'tion butonon POR aparti la menuo - 'IN ORDER to open the menu'

"Used to shift items and to use
a registered item."
Forŝovas erojn kaj uzas registrita erojn.

Uzata por ŝovi erojn kaj por uzi registrita eron.

"If you need help playing the
game, or on how to do things,
press the L or R Button."
Se vi bezonas helpon ludi la ludo, aŭ pri kiel fari aĵojn, ŝtancu la L aŭ R Butonon.

Se vi bezonas helpon kiam vi ludas la ludon, aŭ pri kiel fari aĵojn, ŝtancu la L aŭ R butonon - Btw, not sure if this is standard EO but anyone got a problem with 'kielo por fari aĵojn'? Using the same logic as 'kial // kialo' (what reason // reason, kielo = what way // way)

...Kaj mi ĵus perdis La Ludon. >>;;
(...And I just lost The Game.>>;; )

Wait, as in misplaced it or failed it? lango.gif I thought it was unloseable (and unwinnable)

Speaking of which I was just playing Pkmn Emerald... Well more storming through it with whatever treeko evolves into (got up to 3rd evolution in an hour from starting lango.gif) and minun. Beat the entire fire gym possie with just that treeko dude, it was rad

A few remarks:

La diversaj butonoj eksplikigxos laux la ordo de graveco.
premu la L aux R Butonon.

Don't forget the accusative!

Zafur (Montri la profilon) 2009-aŭgusto-09 16:49:43

Wow didn't think I was that bad. xD;; Might be better to just let you guys handle it. Fine with reading Esperanto but making my own sentences... xP
