You curse much like you do in any other language!

There is a list of some swear words here:

I've been wondering (in my spare moments of quiet linguistic reflection) if it's possible to use swear/curse words to reinforce a positive sentence in Esperanto, as in:

"Thanks for the link Aksel - it's totally f::*ing brilliant!"

Just a reminder that this board is accessible by kids, who, although they're probably exposed to profanity enough already, on balance are probably exposed to profanity enough already.

Let's be implicit. ridulo.gif

Hmm, I take your point, but the thread is called "Cursing", and there were already 2 links to pages with lots of naughty words before I posted.

In any case, the first thing any kid does when learning a new language is to learn all the rude words - and lernu does have a vocabulary section devoted to them.

Your point is also taken, but in the site's terms of service, it says that the rule is that profanities are only allowed in the vocabulary section of that name.

It's meant to keep everything else pretty clean, so that parents can feel comfortable with their kids using everything else on the site.

[the team has definitely been contacted before by protective parents concerned about our content - can any one guess which parts of the site these complaints involved, other than the cursing vocab list?]

Fair enough - I've asterisked my earlier post...
