Hi all! I'm new here, and unfortunately I don't speak any Esperanto. I hope it's ok for me to post here in English.

We have a multilingual social networking community, XIHA Life. Currently the site is translated to nearly 30 languages and we have users from over 200 countries. I would say we are one of the world's most international websites as even the biggest countries (China, Brazil, USA, Turkey...) are at about 5% share of the total traffic.

I would absolutely love to see XIHA Life in Esperanto. I don't speak any of it myself, and the only person I know who speaks Esperanto is not confident enough of her own skills to be able to translate text. Esperanto would be a good fit as our site is meant for people who speak multiple languages.

Would anyone on this forum be interested? Our site is completely free to users, and we currently reach about 400k unique visitors monthly, so it would be a great way to extend the services available in Esperanto language. Based on our experience with other languages, it takes about 25-30 languages to translate everything. The translation is done when logged in to the site, using a built-in localization system, so the results will be available immediatelly. Anything that hasn't yet be translated will be shown in English, so the work doesn't need to be done at once and the workload can also be split between multiple persons.

Please let me know if interested! We do offer compensation for the work, but we mostly look for someone who is passionate and really wants do it. Basically someone who would do it for free anyway. The community was built with passion for learning about other cultures and helping multilingual people. I don't know if posting links here is allowed so I will not post a link, but if you want to check out our community you will easily find our site by googling for it.

I don't know what kind of experience you want with this type of work (for I have none), but I would love to help. I have been studying Esperanto for two years now and, barring some specific vocabulary, I would consider myself fairly proficient. However, like I said, you might want someone who's done this sort of thing before. If I can help, I'd be more than happy.
Also, you were correct in that this specific forum is for Esperanto text only. However, if you click "overview" at the top, and go to the main list of forums, you'll see, below the Esperanto forums, there are forums for different languages, one of which being English. I would suggest reposting there if you want more English-speakers to respond.

Thank you for the offer, however in fact I already have found someone with translation experience who is willing to do it. But I will let you know if he needs help, and at the latest when the translation is done so you can check it out!

Yeah, I guessed it. Apologies to everyone (pardonu!). I was confused by the statement in the rules which says "ads" are only allowed in "About everything else".

I would suggest reposting there if you want more English-speakers to respond.

Bonvolu ne rigardi min kiel monstro.
