Hello, I have done some research into Esperanto though I have not yet found if Esperanto is gender neutral. Or more specifically has gender neutral pronouns like can exist in English; such as singular "they". Any insight into this topic would be very helpful. Thanks!

Riistoj uzas "ri" por angla "singular they".
Sed en tradicia Esperanto oni uzas "li" se genro estas nekonata.

This topic is highly controversial among esperantists.

Without taking a side, I would say that there are proposals to make Esperanto partially or fully gender neutral (especially about pronouns), but that those proposals are not accepted by all esperantists.

"Ri" is the most popular proposal for a gender neutral pronoun. However, it is not official* and many esperantists do not support its use.

* The Esperanto language is regulated by the Academy of Esperanto ("Akademio de Esperanto"), that can officialize new words. The Academy's authority is based on la Fundamento de Esperanto. I would advise you to read about it.

Ido has a far more robust (in my opinion) pronoun system than Esperanto. There are both gendered and non-gendered pronouns in the third person, and separate singular and plural pronouns in the second person. About the only thing it is missing (again in my opinion) are separate inclusive and exclusive first person plural pronouns, as found in some languages.

There is not traditional Esperanto, at least, not in the sense you mean. There is Esperanto, and things that aren't Esperanto. So "ri" isn't Esperanto, and "li" it's the pronoun for the masculine and the neuter gender.

I mean "traditional Esperanto" is its main branch regulated by the Academy

That's modern or actual Esperanto. So, Esperanto.

For me, "traditional Esperanto" is more something like:

Ni foriru de l' domo nova, pro l' sento ŝia.

In other words, a kind of old Esperanto full of zamenhofism.

La nova domo, pro ŝia sento - kvankam estas permesite meti adjektivon post substantivo, normala vortordo estas adjektivo+substantivo.
