Didn't try them, but have you tried freeware programs ? Such as this: http://www.cursodeesperanto.com.br/
or this page (Lernu!) ? They are really very good.

I purchased "languages of the world".

ZERO introduction to the language other than a brief note in the help files. In all honesty though, the puzzles and games that come with it are pretty nice, but it's geared towards an intermediate Esperanist as opposed to a beginner.

SPEAK! Seems to be a little bit better for the beginner than Languages of the World.

I wish you luck,

Aaron

I ordered the Speak! Esperanto! CD some time ago and did not like it at all! It may be adequate for getting an absolute beginner started, but 'cursodeesperanto.com' and 'Lernu.net' are, in my opinion, both much better at teaching vocabulary and grammar. That's just my opinion but I definitely feel that I wasted my money on Speak!.
