Hello! I don't understand why dankon (thank you) is a noun because of the ending -o and a direct object because of the ending -n. Can someone explain this?
Thanks so much! I mean, dankon! ridulo.gif

"Dankon" is the ellipsis of "Mi donas/esprimas/ŝuldas dankon."

Same with "Bonan tagon" < "Mi deziras al vi bonan tagon."

"Pardonon" < "Mi petas pardonon."

"Saluton" < "Mi esprimas saluton."
