ceigered:Sprechen of which, can you believe interlingua has their own google interface?! Blimey! It's kind of pointless though considering Interlingua is (despite being supported by heaps of linguists and could be a rival for esperanto real soon) redundant on google when all the major European languages which interlingua uses as source languages are covered by google anyway.
Well, Google is also translated in Klingon and “Bork bork bork!”.
Obviously they did this as a joke. But I’m afraid they made the Esperanto version not for its usefulness, but as a joke too, to add one more strange language. malgajo.gif

I find the Esperanto Google interface to be perfectly useful. What is not useful about it?

In addition, now there is the option to search for Esperanto-language websites with Google (it's in the advanced search options, and the option is available to you automatically when using the Esperanto Google interface). It used to be that you'd have to search for the Esperanto word, and a word like "kaj" that's seldom found elsewhere, in order to get mainly Esperanto hits. I am generally happy with Google's treatment of Esperanto.

Sinanthiel:I don't see Esperanto on facebook... I looked at the languages down at the bottom part of the page and I all I see for the E languages is English and Espanol...
If you want Facebook to appear in Esperanto right now, install the "translations" application and set your language to English from there. It's volunteer-based and still in the works, so it'll show up in the language menu at the bottom of the screen eventually.

Thank you very much!

Hey, I did a lot of work on Google's Esperanto version! I never meant it as a joke! okulumo.gif

I was active in 2002 mostly, when the Esperanto translation was rendered with the "ikso-sistemo" (cx for ĉ, gx for ĝ, etc.). Unicode still wasn't that widely supported so I replaced those sequences with NCR's (ĉ, ĝ, etc.). I also remember that I took a lot of time translating the whole google toolbar, only to find out that they weren't interested in preparing an Esperanto version of it. malgajo.gif

How rude of Google, you should hack into their systems and force them to offer the google toolbar! (Oh damn, they use linux, you can't really hack into them... Argh why can't they use some unprotected system like windows??!) ridego.gif

How do you find this Google Esperanto??? I've been looking for it for a while now.... I even googled 'Google Esperanto' and it came up with nothing! Maybe Google hates me.

And the facebook esperanto requires you to look for the translations application as hiyayaywhopee said. It's quite good actually. I think you can also get English (Pirate Beta) and Lingua latina (you guessed it, even Latin is on facebook!). But they don't have Volapük... ploro.gif

But I feel a bit stupid writing this, because I know that in 5 minutes from now I'll find the Google Esperanto and I know that someones already said the thing about facebook esperanto, but I just like to talk unfortunately for my mother.
