Currently at change.org the number one idea for education is to introduce Esperanto in schools.

Help keep it that way!

Edit: This has already been posted. Sorry for the double post.

I do not mind that you posted it again. There will be a second round of voting to come and it is good to keep this fresh in peoples minds. sal.gif

It is still currently #1 in education and #7 overall, with over 200 votes. Pretty cool!

Are non US citizens allowed to take part in change.org?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

I have emailed to see what the affect of non-citizens is on the vote.

We will need at least another hundred votes to keep it in the top few spots. Once people really find out about this site each one is going to become more competitive.

Change.org has the ability to promote something via Facebook, MySpace, and so on. Everyone should reach out through those mediums as well as any other outlets that you have.

Yes, I believe you only need to give your name and e-mail address.

Note: The idea is still 1st in education and 7th overall, with 239 votes.

I love the idea and I support it 100%. On a practical note, the first thing that needs to happen is to convince enough teachers to learn the language.

I believe non US citizens are allowed in voting because even though we don't live in the country, the US is so influential that whatever happens there generally affects the rest of the world - for example, the middle east conflicts currently involve the European union, Australia, Britain, Russia, China - it's quite overwhelming.

And in particular, those living in the Americas (North and South, e.g. Canada, Argentina, Mexico) and those who are close to the U.S. (Australia, the UK - kind of lango.gif) would kind of deserve a voice in US politics considering we are the ones under the most influence - so much so the Aussie accent is changing slowly (depending on what generation you're in, generally it smoothes out as you get older, but some kids can have a very US accent).

So, anyone and everyone should vote - this is a great chance to get Esperanto into an education system OUTSIDE of university studies.

Guys we have fallen off the main page for top ideas. We need to almost double the amount of votes to keep Esperanto in the running.

Please send the word. Broadcast to your interested user groups and social networking sites, as well as the other language boards here and on other Esperanto sites.

We have a crap load of votes needed to keep going in the second round race of Top 10 over all. The other Education ideas are gaining ground on us as well. =)
