During my break between school and university I've been thinking a lot about a couple of things.

1. Do you reckon that an colloquial Aussie English course in Esperanto would be fun, at least for those who are either uninitiated in the crazy world of English or for those who can't find info anywhere else?

2. Before I even think about that, I'm curious as to how certain terms would translate into Esperanto, e.g. 'You're a bloody legend mate!'. I tried translating that word for word, and this is what you get: 'Vi'stas sanga legendo maato' but obviously that doesn't make sense: Firstly, it's assuming the legend has blood all over him, secondly, maato is assuming that we're talking about, you know, 1st Mate Israel One-eye peg leg. Legendo makes enough sense though, because it's using an abstract concept just the same as in English, but the rest is confusing me.
Maybe it's best to explain the meaning, like 'bloody' = 'tre por substantivoj'?

I know most foreign English speakers know some Aussie slang like 'bloody' (Remember the 'Where the bloody hell are you' ads that cause controversy?) which isn't even exclusively Aussie, but I'd like to make some kind of window for Esperanto speakers so they can see into the crazy world of Australian english.

Dank' por via helpo.

I think it's a great idea to spread Esperanto in as many ways as possible, so I fully support your idea.

You're a bloody legend, mate! - Vi estas vera legendulo, amik'!

Ah, sounds good. I didn't think of 'vera' before, but I might incorporate it there.

I started to work on the kurso tonight, but here's a link for all parties interested:

Go to "KURSO DE AŬSTRALIA KOMUNUZA LINGVO" in the navigation bar, then to "Leciono Unu: Bloody".

Unless someone has hijacked my account, there should only be one real point made in the entire lesson: 'bloody' equals = very much so ridego.gif
