I've just come across a song that is really cool and shows that Esperanto does indeed have culture!

I'm posting here incase anyone was wondering about Esperanto music - as this is a good example in my opinion.

The band is Dolchamar, they have various tracks free for download on their site. The one I heard is called "Ni cxiuj ni".

If anyone has any similar recommendations, I'd be happy to continue building my Esperanto music collection rideto.gif

Dolchamar is one of the most popular Esperanto bands... They don't really float my boat. I'm more into classic rock.

It'd be great if you have any recommendations for some classic rock in Esperanto.

I wish... I don't know of any classic rock groups in Esperanto. That would be great though.

I'm not sure if it fits the definition of classick rock, but you could like the work of Persone.

Persone is not really much like classic rock, but if you like classic rock, you might like JoMo. He sings lots of types music, heavy emphasis on modernized/updated folk tunes and rock music. But he has sung Esperanto covers of a lot of old stuff. It is not exactly what I'd call classic rock but it's close enough that you might like it. I think he likes old US folk/country music because he has done rock-style Esperanto-language covers of a couple old country songs - Jambalaya (Hank Williams) and Wanted Man (Johnny Cash)

He did an Esperanto version of "Do you wanna dance?" and of "La Bamba", and several other songs from a similar era. A couple of his songs sound very much to me like Elvis, but I am not familiar enough with Elvis's music to be able to tell what exact songs they might correspond to.

In any case, I encourage you to check out www.vinilkosmo.com

It's the main Esperanto music publisher. You can listen to sound clips from a lot of their CDs and see what you like.

You can download a few Jomo songs free here

If I'm correct, isn't Persone no longer together?

Ah, Ni ĉiuj ni is my favourite song (in Esperanto), and while some of Dolĉamar's stuff sounds a bit weird, they do have some good songs out there. I still prefer Spanish pop-rock though ridego.gif.
