I think Eventeo is what you are looking for. (But I don't know how regularly it is updated.)

Is the usage of the language on that site pretty good? I obviously want to be reading primarily stuff that's well written to improve my own usage.

Of course, if anyone knows of any other sites, too, I'd love to have a look at those as well.

It looks fine to me. I am not a regular reader but the grammar etc looks ok. It's not shakespeare, but the news rarely is okulumo.gif

Also, try liberafolio.org for news from the Esperanto world.
