We had our first "formal" Executive Board meeting last night to finalize our Constitution and By-laws and lay out the format for our first meeting. Our vice president is getting the first newsletter ready, and we're all set! Our first public meeting will be in January. We're all excited and looking forward to it!
If anyone wants more information on dates, times, etc., send me a message so I can keep you updated.

ceigered:Forgive my ignorance, but is Oklahoma a town in the south of the US? Our school had a musical called 'Oklahoma', that's all, although that was set back in the good ol days of PioneeringIt is a city and a state. The state of Oklahoma is directly North of Texas and the capital is Oklahoma City.
That's a great musical, by the way, and Oklahoma is a pretty neat place with a colorful history. They've got cattle ranches, oil fields, cowboys, and all the stuff many people think of when they think about the American West. It's definitely a fun place to visit if you get the chance.
Oh, and congrats Polaris. If I'm in town during one of your meetings, I'd love to drop by!

But to tell the truth, most of those abbreviations are Volapük to me.
Regards,
Daniel
PS: just in case you don't know it, Volapük is another planned language which appeared a few years before Esperanto, but did not have the latter's success. It must have been comparatively very difficult, since Esperantists coined the expression "tio estas Volapuko/volapukaĵo por mi" ("this is Volapük to me"), when something is very hard to understand.
