Ok, so on Change.org we made it through to round 2 not by much. We need everyone to go out and
cast your vote again, as well as spread the word to everyone that you already have done so, so that they can vote again.

Go! Go! Go!

I've already voted rideto.gif

I voted, again, had to click on the vote button a few times before it would turn red, and actually register my vote.

I really don't think Obama would even look at it, even if he did, he wouldn't make such an important decision based on less then 3000 (American and International) votes in a country that has more then 300million people. But even so, anything that gives more publicity to Esperanto, and that can show people, that no we haven't died out, but are actually thriving on the internet. So therefore i support the cause even though it probably won't have any short term impact, but its the long term impact that we're hopping for -ĉu ne?

And even so, perhaps some teachers who never gave Esperanto a second glance before, will go on the website supporting their own idea, but read the testimonies (not sure if that's the right term as I've only heard it in religious circle, so please correct me if there is a better word) about Esperanto, and its benefits for foreign language learning, that maybe they will start to see it as a good idea, and give it a try (perhaps by learning the language and starting local Esperanto clubs in schools). So this can only be a win-win situation i think.

Also before i voted, I saw on the top right (facing the screen) of the monitor it said 10 votes left, then when i voted it said 9 votes left, does anyone know what this means?

Dankon in advance!

I think you can only vote for 10 different ideas.

Whether or not Obama considers teaching esperanto in schools this is a great way to spread esperanto. I believe many people would learn on their own if they knew about it. I did not know about it until a little more than a year ago (and only getting serious about learning a month ago)

This idea moved to the second round, so this must show something. I voted ridulo.gif

I voted.

Those of you who have more than one e-mail address can vote more than once XD

danielcg (Montri la profilon) 2009-januaro-06 01:15:30

But I don't think this is fair. I have more than one address, but I voted only once. I also voted in behalf of my wife, using her address, after asking for her permission (she now studies Esperanto, so her vote is fair too).

And I sent an invitation to three mailing lists I am engaged in, where there could be sympathizers.

Regards,

Daniel

At the moment, we are 571 votes away from the Top 10. Keep it up, everybody...

Yes, "testimonies" has a sort of religious overtone. But it's close. I think the word you were looking for is "testimonials".
