I began my journey with Duolingo, but I quickly noticed that it is not enough as a first learning tool (it is even less recommendable as such today, since the grammar sections are gone). Then I discovered the course here. It taught me grammar, words and reading. My third stepping stone was a course at the local club, where I learnt speaking.

I later heard that using two, three tools somewhat parallel is indeed a good way.
