Saluton homoj,

I am looking for Esperanto music that either has either a creative commons licence or is royalty free. If anyone can help me out that would be fantastic. Thanks.

If you check on wikipedia for 'Esperanto Music' you might end up with some info on bands or muzos with free songs etc, however in terms of the CC licence I'm not familiar with anyone who has music with a CC licence and in Esperanto.

What kinda music are you looking for? And is this for a doco or for something else?

Anyway, sorry I couldn't be of more help, but G'day mate from Adelaide okulumo.gif (as this is the first time I reckon I've seen you 'ere)

Esperanto bands are not generally very specific about the licenses that their music falls under.

However, if you want to legally obtain free Esperanto music, I suggest going to a website like Music Express, which has many Esperanto songs that are freely downloadable, with the consent of their creators. They are generally meant as "samples", to encourage you to buy the CDs of the bands.

In addition, Persone has released a couple of their old, out of print albums (originally released as tapes!) online, freely downloadable. Go to any torrent site and search for "Persone" to find this download. If you have questions about this torrent, e-mail Bertilo Wennergren; bertilow@gmail.com

He is familiar with open source programs and licensing issues, and since he is the one who created the torrent (as I recall), and a member of Persone, he should be able to answer any questions you have, in case something is in doubt. He speaks fluent English (and German and Swedish, at least), so you don't have to write to him in Esperanto if you don't feel your level is up to it.

It'd be a problem for him if he didn't speak Swedish lango.gif

But I'm curious about this now - how many albums did Persone release? I've only ever seen one of them.

Persone released five albums. I am familiar with four of them; the fifth, the one I have never heard, was their first, released on cassette tape in 1987.

There is a list here, along with the names of the songs on each album:

I can never seem to find seed for the Persone CDs.

I'm not experienced with BitTorrent, so it may just be me, but every link I seem to find is seedless and useless.
