I’m looking for the general word for a device that dispenses something, such as a paper towel dispenser or a soap dispenser in a restroom. bombon-liverilo? sapodozilo? sapodisdonilo?

Jes, mi pensas, ke disdonilo estas la plej bona elekto. Krome, mi trovis tiun vorton en la English-Esperanto Annotated Dictionary.

Actually expressing distributing, dividing and sharing in Esperanto is a surprisingly complex matter. There are points of view regarding whether the distributable is preserved as a whole after the distribution, whether the distributable parts are of equal size and so on. Without diving into the matter disdonilo as suggested by Altebrilas is a good choice for a paper or soap dispenser.
