Ganellon:I'm not sure this is able to work with Vista 64 on the Intel i7 platform. When I tried to install, it attempted to run the AMD .msi file, and I canceled it before it finished as I was pretty certain this was not correct. I'm happy to test it out if you make an i7 compatible version.
I haven't tried it on 64-bit platforms. It definitely works on XP and the 32-bit versions of Vista, as I use both.

I don't have access to a 64-bit i7 platform, therefore I can't build a version for it.

If you have a mac, you can also download Esperanto keyboard layouts and set a shortcut to switch between them. You can then set a keyboard shortcut to switch between the keyboards you want. I don't know the exact webpage, but I think it's relatively easy to find.

Riot,

I am using and liking your esperanto keyboard, but is there a way to turn off the Ctrl-Shift toggle? I'm an editor, and I use Ctrl-Shift constantly to highlight words I'm changing or deleting.

I tried setting Advanced Key Settings to "none" in Text Services and Input Languages (under Regional & Language Options), where one usually chooses the toggle, but it had no effect.

Many thanks.

Guess I might aswell shamelessly plug my own program Tajpi seing as though someone dragged up this thread again.

Aswell as allowing all the usual prefix/suffix combinations it also lets you simulate a keyboard remapping somewhat in that you can assign esperanto letters to certain keys, aswell as use the Alt-Gr key to accent c, g, h, j, s and u as you would for accenting other European letters such as e and u to get é and ú.

Try right-clicking on the language bar in your taskbar, then click on Settings. In there somewhere I believe you can turn off the keyboard shortcuts.

I made my own with a keyboard mapping program for windows.

I couldn't get EK! to work in Vista with Gmail, so I switched to Tajpi.

Another Gnu/Linux user here. I don't care so much for compose key because of having to follow it with a combination. Even two-key combos is enough to slow me down if unaccustomed to them. So I used xmodmap to remap keybindings and use the windows key to do the Esperanto only letters. After a bit of practice it becomes as quick and easy as hitting the shift key.

For mac I made a quick keyboard layout (download HERE) using the ~ key as the 'shift' key (so ~g produces ĝ etc.)

Save it under Library > Keyboard Layouts
and access it under System Preferences > International > Input Menu

(one of these days I'll make a shiny bilingual readme)

attempting to fix...

Hey Marianas, just curious, does the tilde double for accenting the consonants and the 'u'? (I was just thinking that they have different accentation and because I'm assuming you're using the same method as what option+e does during I was wondering how you'd get that to work)
