regardas - rigardas
pro tion - pro tio
proponas, ke la signoj uziĝus - proponas, ke la signoj uziĝu (or more simply, "proponas uzi la signojn...")
pro ke - pro tio, ke (or simple "ĉar")
signifo‑signifa komponaĵoj aŭ signifo‑sona komponaĵoj - aj ending on adjectives. Also "signifo-signifa" is a rather odd word.
kiu antaŭ signifis - antaŭe
ekparolas - elparolas (assuming you mean "pronounce", but I'm not 100% sure of your intent here)
Hope that helps!

Btw, there is also an English version of the page also. I used the phrases "meaning-meaning compounds" and "meaning-sound compounds" in English, and I think that the Esperanto is no worse. Of course, if there's a better way of saying it, I'll use it!

jchthys:I have written a couple articles in Esperanto. I think that they are pretty much in good Esperanto, but I'm sure they could use proofreading by fellow Esperantists.Just some details in the main page, for now:

Ĉi tiam, instead of Ĉi-tiam (see http://www.reta-vortaro.de/revo/art/cxi.html#cxi.0)
mi tradukos ĉiujn, kiujn mi skribis en la angla (aŭ kiujn mi skribis angle)
(I don't know why, but I think it would be better even ... ĉion, kion ..., instead of ... ĉiujn, kiujn ...)
Last, al la retpoŝtadreso, without the accusative.
Amike,
Daniel.

As you have plenty of advisors on the grammatical aspects, let me make a suggestion concerning the organisation.
Clearly, you can't tell the story of writing systems the world over in such a short space. So I would think of another title that concentrates on what you are really talking about. Most of your article is about the Chinese system of writing, not the story of the Western alphabet. So be clear about the main message that you wish to convey, and that may suggest a suitable title for your English piece, as well as ideas on editing it. Then you can translate the meaning into Esperanto.
The article on the New Year is more satisfactory from the point of view of everything hanging together. (It's still a good idea to revise it a number of times, if you intend to submit it to a journal).

I don’t plan on submitting my work to a journal—I try to write from a personal point of view, not necessarily to cover the subject comprehensively. After all, the information is readily available.
Who knows, though—maybe the articles could be published in Esperanto. (I think it’s easier to get published in Esperanto than in English.)
