jchthys:Although I doubt he said it in eo!
Of course he said it in eo, even if he'd never heard of it, he would have still said it in eo because that's how legendary he is. He's so legendary he has a pie named after him! A meat pie! Called the 'Ned Kelly pie'! WITH EGGS! Eggs I say!

Hmm sorry and thank you for the translation, i think my head is now more in eo that in english okulumo.gif

Yes i confirm, Ned Kelly said it in eo and in many other languages, these kinds of Robin Hood usually have super powers... rideto.gif

That's it, Robin Hood and Ned Kelly will now be revered in Esperanto culture as two members of the "bonbonulsuperhomaj gesanktuloj" (bonbonuloj for short, 'BB' as a title, like Sinjoro), which now consists of:
- Robin Hud
- Ned Keli
- Ĵon De Ark
- Patrino Tereza
- Stiv Ĝobs
- Yao Ming
- Anolt Alojs Ŝvacenega (aka. La Finanto)

All of which have super-powers (superpotencoj?) rideto.gif.

Not Stiv Ĝobs, he has fallen in the power of the dark side, (the monopole of "granny smith", on the other side Bibil is a little one) rideto.gif

ceigered:- Ĵon De Ark
Better to pronunce "Ĵan Dark"

While I do admit France's military might has always sounded quite friendly (Joan being a woman, French soldiers wearing blue, topless women running out onto the battlefield (I refer to Coldplay's viva la vida cover)), 'Dark' makes her last name sound somewhat, dark and scary lango.gif

But on a more serious note, I take it 'Jeanne' is pronounced with a 'a' sound instead of the usual 'o' like in 'entant'? (forgive me, I haven't revised French since I learnt it last year, and even then I could barely pronounce okulumo.gif)

?? "entant" which seems not to be an usual but technic agronomic french word (never heard before) does not pronunce with an "o".

Must be my Australian ears then, to me, all 'en' and 'an' sounds sound like 'õ' (nasalised 'o's).

Some bonbonulsuperulego, speaking Esperanto seven years before it was invented!

I wondered what the fuss was about till I found
this page with a description and picture of the pie.

I must admit, this sounds tasty, almost a reason to visit Australia someday if circumstances permit (apart from eating kangaroo meat, seeing koalas grunting in eucalyptus trees ..).
