i'v been playing quite often on Kil'Jaeden, my character is a lvl 14 shaman named Sankto. we should find a time when we can all meet and play. i am bacily free this whole week other then boxing day. so if we can just find a time we are all avalible that would be good.

Senlando: boxing day
That's January 26th for those of us living outside the Commonwealth.

Someone should post this in general forums.

Iu devas skribi en universala novajhgrupo koncerne tiun.

edit: Instead of just saying someone else should do it, I went ahead and posted it myself. I'm sure people are cringing at the horrible grammar, but you have to learn somehow! (link)

I guess that's what you meant, and dared correcting for you. Hope you don't mind.

Whats more strange, is I looked at the date, and even thought "Hmm, so America doesn't have boxing day. I never knew that!". So I managed to go through an entire thought process without realizing that the date was wrong!

i just baught a laptop, and so now i'v been playing quite often. now i'm planing on geting a guild started. i know there arn't many of us, but i beleive that if we can get a guild started, it would help us play together more often. i was wondering if u guys could help me think of a name. after we pick a few names, we can vote on which is the best.
here are a few i thought of. and please remember that Wows guild names are limited to 24 letters (including spaces) for esample the name can't be "Militarta Esperanta Gildo" because the "o" in gildo lands in the 25th space.

Warcraft Esperanto Guild
(i know its in english but i think that would help other people on the server get more curious about us)

Esperanta Gildo (very basic name, but i think it would be good cause even none eo speakers would be able to gues what it means)

Esperanto (kind of boring)

Lernu (lol, well hopefuly it will be a lerning and practasing eo guild)

Followers of Zamenhof

Amikaro (circle of friends)

Esperantaro (circle of esperantist?)

so thats all the names i can think of, please pick your favourets or give us your name suggestions.

How about La Mortigantoj for a tough-sounding name? Or La Esperantoj for a more hopeful one?

But seriously, here's something I find interesting...

Since the World of Warcraft world consists of two warring factions (the Horde and the Alliance), one of the ways that the game designers keep the two sides apart is by implementing programming that prevents the two sides from understanding each other. The program will scramble whatever you type so that "the other side" will see it as unintelligible gibberish.

Seems the game designers knew that a common language would help to foster peace!

Well, first of all the common language wasn't used to foster peace. They had to prevent communication not to avoid agreement and peace but to avoid insults flying from one faction to the other.

Anyway, I am also on WOW, and I would be willing to start a character on whatever server to be part of an esperanto guild. I currently play on sisters of elune and my main is happily guilded there.

So, if this happens, count me on board.

For the translation what would it be?
mondo de militarto ?

I didn't say that a common language had been used to foster peace; simply that by having the two sides in this war speak different languages, there was more of a "role play feel" of conflicting cultures. Such as when I recently ran across some players from the opposing army in Thousand Needles, there was simply no way for me to say anything meaningful to them or to avoid having them attack and kill me, which they did.

Can you honestly tell me that the fact that you cannot even understand what opposing players are saying does not, even subtly, contribute to a feeling of "otherness"? And "otherness" is usually conducive to warfare and not peaceful solutions.

I totally agree, it does give you a feeling of "otherness" and it is frustrating! Last night a blood elf helped me while I was fighting a demon in witch hill, and i would have loved to talk to him! I felt powerless that I could not communicate!
