Obviously there are courses in countless languages that teach esperanto. But are there any courses that use esperanto to teach another language? That seems like it would be a great tool for esperantists, especially if they spoke an obscure native language.

I think a "relernu" website would be awesome and I hope I'd get a chance to use it.

Searching the UEA bookstore for Lerniloj alilingvaj results in a list of 25 items.

Unfortunately only fifteen of them are currently available.

I myself bought Litova lingvo per Esperanto-okuloj in 2005.

That summer the Esperanto World Congress (Universala Kongreso de Esperanto = UK) took place in Vilnius, capitol of Lithuania.

For reasons that won't be disclosed I didn't participate in the UK.

I didn't learn Lithuanian either.

But that doesn't imply the book is useless. rideto.gif

Maybe the Cubans are preparing something for Spanish: The 2010 UK will be the second to take place in Havanna, Cuba. okulumo.gif

There is a video at YouTube featuring Fidel at the UK in 1990.

I guess his brother's address will be less exciting. rideto.gif

Greetings from Germany,

I think that's partly the goal of lingva prismo

Once upon a time, I saw an Italian course by esperanto, but it was two years ago... I'm learning tokipona by esperanto, and it is working pretty well, 'cause it is easier for me to get the meanings by the eo-dictionary asides the English.

In sites like buusu.com and livemocha.com there are esperantists trying to make it. But thinking better about it, I just realized the we have our own CouchSurfing (Pasporta Servo), then why not to have our own page about courses like that. It would be a really profitable experience for Esperanto, woudn't it?

There is one place that I know of that has used Esperanto as the source language to teach a goal language: toki pona. It's a constructed language with some interesting goals.
I had a look at the link and something caught my eye, two emo poems in tonki pona english and esperanto http://tokipona.org/angst.html wow
