Ok version 2.73 is now available. Big thanks and props out to mnlg who very kindly allowed me to remote connect to his computer to get this thing fixed. All works well on his computer now, which was afflicted with exactly the same issue as you Maverynthia so hopefully it should work fine for you too.

Hello!

tommjames:Ok version 2.73 is now available.
Thanks for that one.

Unfortunately, when I quit Windows or shut it down, a window "Tajpi" pops up:

Run-time error '424':
Object required

I can't provide a screenshot because at that moment it's too late for doing a "PrintScreen", launching Paint and pasting the contents to save them as JPG file.

It's not a big problem, though, because "OK"-ing the pop-up window is all that's required to make the quitting|shutdown go on.

Happy bug hunting,
Kolonjano

I know what that is, thanks for letting me know.

A new version will be available within the next hour. Working on it now.

*tommjames wonders whether Tajpi should still be in beta* senkulpa.gif

When it's a bit better than beta, but not quite done yet, go delta okulumo.gif
When it's a bit better than delta, but still not quite done yet, go gamma okulumo.gif
When it's totally not done yet, but you have to release this thing before the deadline tonight, just tell people it will solve all their problems and pretend it's complete.
Don't worry, all the cool guys like Microsoft do it! rido.gif

That aside, I still have no idea how tajpi works. I'm gonna download it and install it on Parallels desktop on my mac and see if it works in coherence mode.

That way you can say 'tajpi works on a mac via virtualisation' too ridulo.gif
And if I'm feeling even more generous I'll look for a free wine wrapper on the net and test tajpi with it. Hopefully in between the first week back at uni, conlanging and computergaming I'll be able to report back in a week and tell you how I went okulumo.gif

I'd be interested to know how that goes. A friend of mine tried running it on Linux with Wine but it didn't work. If it does work on the mac is there a way of packaging the thing up so it could be released as a standalone without the need for virtualisation software? Would be cool if I could release it for the Mac too without any work okulumo.gif

I got the new version and it seems to be working.
What was the problem o.O?

I'll get back to you on the DarWine stuff later, might end up being too complex. If you've heard of Cider, then you'd know what I mean when I say it'd be great to have a similar method for porting normal windowed programs.
I'm gonna try and test virtualisation tonight provided I'm still awake, we'll see what happens.

Good to know it's working.

Truth be told I don't actually know precisely what the problem was. There was some strange issue with one of the windows initializing correctly, which only manifested on certain machines. Rather than figure out what was "wrong" with the window I just deleted and rebuilt it. This fixed the problem, which is strange because the code is no different now to what it was previously. I suspect it was some weird issue related to a potential bug in the compiler, but I really don't know.
