Does anybody have or know of a birda fakvortaro? I'm trying to find the names of a few American birds, specifically the bluejay and mocking bird.

I can make guesses based on their Latin names, but they'd be just that -- WAG's.

The bluejay is Cyanocitta cristata.

A problem arises with the mocking bird, as there appears to be about 17 species among three genera.

Any help would be appreciated!

No idea about a general dictionary, but I can help you with Bluejay and Mockingbird:

I know this page: Komunlingvaj nomoj de Eŭropaj birdoj.

But I'm not sure the American birds you are looking for exist in Europe too.

Tommjames - Thank you! This seems to be exactly what I was looking for. I'll have to remember to check vikipedia more often.

Hélène - Thank you for the offer, but I think Tommjames nailed the question.

Mutusen - You are right. These two types of birds are indigenous to North America. But I appreciate the suggestion!
