That thread about the book "In the Land of Invented Languages" got me thinking. It seems to me like many of us enjoy reading and have roughly similar interests. So if you're the type of Esperantist who likes to read and doesn't mind social networks, why not join Goodreads.com? It's a social network devoted to cataloging, discovering and discussing books and I just love it. I say you check it out and tell me what you think of it. And if you decide to join don't hesitate to add me as a friend: http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1995852-abraham

Sounds like a good idea, if I ever find the time!

I use Goodreads.com (user name Junesun) and I like it a lot. Sometimes I waste too much time answering trivia about the books I read though...

I have a LibraryThing account too, but I didn't really like it. And, in fact, Goodreads is considerably more popular: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/goodreads.com+librar...

LT does have a quite a bit going for it from a technical point of view. It gives a lot more info for each book and you can add much more. It's generally recommended for people who want to keep close tabs on their personal libraries. Some people also say it's better for true book lovers. GR leans more toward a typical social network. And LT requires a one-time $25 fee to add more than (I think) 200 books.

From an Esperanto perspective, neither site has much of an E-community.
