Also in Word I can't find these special letters, is there a possibility for a download or anything?

However, if you use FireFox, the extension abcTajpu will allow you to type the superscripted characters within FireFox (at least).

Maybe somebody else has a suggestion for Macs/Safari and also for the other applications like Word, Excel...

From the apple menu, go to system preferences -> International -> Input Menu
uncheck the U.S. the "U.S. Keyboard (roman)" and check the "U.S. Keyboard (unicode)"
From there you can easily access special characters.
if you hit option six, you get a ^ and then next letter you type will be under it. so you can make
ĉ ĝ ĵ etc...
option b gives the breve ˘ symbol which can be put over the u for the ŭ
Note, if you have several keyboard layouts active, there is a little menu that will appear next to the clock (upper right hand corner) that lets you switch among them. make sure the unicode option is selected. It will say U.S. extended or something like that.
Hope that helps
EL_NEBULOSO:Hi, I am new here and I would like to know where I can find the special charachter used in Esperanto. I have a Mac and use MacOS 10.4, I looked at all layouts for my keyboard, also the slavic languages, but I can't find all the Esperanto letters.
Also in Word I can't find these special letters, is there a possibility for a download or anything?

thanks a lot!
It really works
I tried the US extended layout, but I didn't try all these option + other keys. If you don't know, it's really a hidden feature.
Now I now how to write these letters.

I am just at the beginning of learning Esperanto but since I speak several other European languages, I can read (and understand ) most things.
