It was hilarious to watch in Spanish

I think it would way better in Esperanto.

For example: To be in Spanish is either Estar or Ser. To be in esperanto is Esti. Grande in spanish is 'Big' or 'Great' and Granda in esperanto is 'Big' or 'Great'.

I really want to continue learning Esperanto but I don't want it to screw up my Spanish. How can I learn both languages without confusing them? I'm sure you all have had experience learning two languages at once..

Okay, I do 4 things:

1) Avoid going right from one language I'm actively learning to another, especially if they're linguistically close. Give yourself a good hour from when you put down your Spanish 4 book until you open Lernu.

2) To switch between any two languages, I try to read something a native speaker (or proficiency equivalent) wrote or listen to a conversation for 3-5 minutes before I open my mouth or pick up my pen.

3) Learn directly (takes a little bit to get here, but push yourself). For example, I use only definitions in the language I'm learning and eschewing subtitles.

4) Relax! I just laugh it off when they get mixed up. It happens, it's part of the learning process. NEVER stress about learning a language because it just clogs up the brain.
