Not sure if this has come up anywhere else in the forum but I thought I'd let u know about this chat website I found called Chatonic. It seems to be a mainly esperanto based chat site, it's main advantage is it allows voice chatting over the channel. There's a "microphone request" facility so only 1 person at a time speaks, seems pretty cool. At the moment it dosn't appear to be all that popular and it does seem to have it's fair share of spambots and people in search of "amorous activity", but I had some fun last night with a few of the Lernu regulars, and I imagine it could be good for organized get togethers or conferences and the like. Perhaps it will become a popular hangout joint for esperantists in the future.

And so forth.

But I only saw it happen in the EO room once while I was in there and they left shortly thereafter, so it's not so bad.

Yup. Someone gave me them a while ago for the channel "Esperanto Internacia"; you'll see my name underlined when I go in there, same with the other admins. Although I don't seem to be able to give admin rights out so I guess there's some kind of "super admin" person. No idea who that might be though!

I never see anyone in the chatrooms at Chatonic. I must be looking at the wrong times..

Yeah it varies a lot. Seems to have revived itself a little bit just lately though, each night I've gone in for the fast few days there have been at least 10 people merrily chatting away. Havn't yet been able to acertain when the best times are though.
