Saluton ridulo.gif

I'm Dario, initiator (not creator of the conlang) of the experiment on Google Wave.

I just want to say that this is just an conlang experiment, to try out Wave, and everybody can join us with new ideas. Indeed, I enjoy every message of the experiment because it is fun.

We don't intend to replace Esperanto. I have my opinion about Esperanto (you can read it in Wave) but I also love it (and learn it again because I learnt it 12 years ago and I didn't use it lango.gif). The achievements done by Esperanto are impressive.

@BradP: don't worry, in the future there would be a "draft mode" so nobody would see you typing okulumo.gif

@ceigered: I will look into Hawaiian language but we are working with statistical data on WALS to "grasp" the most common features (including phonology, the first part we are developing).

@Talisman: you are welcome too to give us your feedback. We are interested in all possible opinions, critics, etc.

If somebody wants a Wave invitation, just send me a message at Lernu or Twitter (@im_dario)

Ah don't worry too much about my comment, 50% of what I say tends to lack any form of seriousness okulumo.gif

The WALS data sounds interesting, I just had a look at that site and found that I was a bit disorientated on it and gave up looking for anything on it, but that'd certainly be very useful.

I'll send you a PM about Wave because I'd really like to see this project ridulo.gif

Hi Ceigered!

About WALS, the Feature section is the most useful. Take a look again, once you are in that section is very easy to navigate.

BradP:I don't know how I will adjust to people watching my typing as I perform it. I would feel...naked.
Same here, I don't like it. I don't know about you but when I write posts for forums I'm constantly deleting bits of what I've typed, shifting segments around and rewording stuff that sounds stupid. There should be an option to switch this off. Do you know whether it's possible?

Yep. I have confirmed the existance of a "draft" checkbox. Tick that and people shouldn't be able to see what you're writing in that post (don't know if it's persistent, it might uncheck itself after you click "done"). Of course in a business setting or anything else that wave would be most useful for, this shouldn't be necessary lango.gif but for general conversations especially when people could be offended this should be useful.

That sounds like pure entertainment to me lango.gif

Not related to conlang building, but to Google Wave: I still have some invites to give out, too. So if anyone needs one, just message me.
