Saluton,

I am an English speaker with an intermediate knowledge of Esperanto. I am looking for someone with advanced Esperanto skills to communicate with via e-mail in order to work on my conversational ability. Ideally I'd prefer someone who can also speak English, so that he/she could help correct my (many) mistakes. I'd like to communicate on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. If interested, send me an e-mail at spiritualstasis@gmail.com. Hopefully this can be a fun learning experience for us both!

Thanks,
Zena

If I was more advanced in the realm of Esperantos, I'd take up your offer...but I too am in need of a pen pal who can speak both English and Esperanto well. Lol

If this forum could have stickies, that'd be a great way to start up a conversation for learners. But because of the dynamic nature of this forum it's somewhat hard to do without chaps accidentally crashing the party by making it all English or having the conversation err to far on the side of EO to the point where it no longer is meant to be on the EN forum.

On the other hand, if someone knows a good free forum for En-Eo speakers we could use that, and put a link here (that'd lighten the load on lernu!'s servers (it is a good sign though that the lernu!'s servers are running a bit slow I guess as it shows peop's are interested)).

May I suggest that you get a penpal who doesn't speak any English at all.

Trying to explain yourself in a language that is your sole common language makes for a better learning experience, in my opinion, than when you can resort to English. If you have another common language besides Esperanto, it's too hard to fall back to English and neglect to push yourself sufficiently in Esperanto.

You can always do your correspondence in Esperanto only, and then return to this forum to ask questions like "How do I say xyz in Esperanto?"

Dankon - I was going for "i-greka" because in French my French tutor says "i-grec" or something like that (haven't delved into the spelling of it, and too lazy to bother checking.)
