Greetings! I've recently put together vocabulary lists and flashcards for various Esperanto textbooks, i.e. :

Teach Yourself Esperanto, byJohn Cresswell and John Hartley, ISBN 0-34-27022-5
Jen Nia Mondo 1, by J.C. Wells and others, ISBN 0-902756-10-9
Jen Nia Mondo 2, by J.C. Wells and others, ISBN 0-906632-01-3
Esperanto : Learning and Using the International Language, by David Richardson, ISBN 0-939785-00-5
The Esperanto Teacher, 2nd Edition, by Helen Frier
Esperanto : The Universal Language, by J.C. O'Conner

http://www.denisowski.org/Esperanto/Esperanto.html

Hopefully they will be of some use to English-speaking students of Esperanto.

Best regards,

Paul

Thank you so much for your work in putting those flash cards together, Paul! As a beginner I'm always on the lookout for ways to learn more Esperanto and these will be very helpful.

cheers,
Ali

Thank you, these are great.
Would you happen to know, though if they are suitable for importing into SlovoEd?

(and how to get Mnemosyne to accept input from EK? I can paste but I can't type, it just types both keys or goes back a space)

I don't use SlovoEd, but if it has an import function, it should be easy to convert the plain text files into a format that can be read by SlovoEd (or any other flashcard program). The way I made the Mnemosyne flashcards was simply replacing " : " in the text files (which are esperanto : english) with a tab character, stripping out the header/footer (marked with an initial #) and then using Mnemosyne's import function.

The reason I use Mnemosyne is that it's open-source and multiplatform. I initially created the vocabulary lists as UTF-8 text and then made flashcards from them, not the other way around. My idea is to provide the vocabulary in a simple and neutral format (UTF-8 text) and let people use them any way they like.

Hope that helps!
