I was thinking of uploading some of my art to the Esperanto Wikipedia but I need know a few things.

1) I have drawn many pictures of animals, and was wondering if Wikipedia allows hand drawn pictures over photographs for articles.

2) I have attached one of my pictures and was wondering if you all think it’s good enough to upload.

I think it's a good idea. You could also practise your Esperanto by including a little commentary with your drawings.

It's a very good picture of a Cheetah!.... It's meant to be a Cheetah, right?

My cruel joke aside, it's a great picture and I think it's just as good as any other picture on there. The most important thing is the context. For example, if we were talking about the science of lions, or lion behaviour, or the first header picture for the lion article, I think it'd be better to go and fish out an actual picture of a lion (because, scientifically, there's nothing better than the original, and second best would be a diagram with scientific annotations on it).

However, anywhere else a drawing would go well (e.g. Lions in human culture, Lions in art, whatever sub-heading you reckon you can squeeze it into without either detracting from the context or overloading the Wikipedia page with colour), provided you're fine with it being copied to death by everyone and everything.

BTW, love the way you did above the eyes etc, it just has a soft Lion-king look about it, it doesn't seem quite as hostile or carnivorous as we think of big cats as being.

If anything, don't upload them to Esperanto Wikipedia, but to Wikimedia Commons where it serves all Wikimedia projects.
