Saluton! I was curious to know if anyone knows if there are american based news sources, (online perferably) such as news papers or 'cnn' type resource that offer it in Esperanto (news being weather, local, national, global, etc.) I am a new learner of Esperanto and would like to expose myself to reading material. Recommnedations are welcomed!

Dankon!

I also find klaku.net interesting and leads me to other sites in Esperanto. Sure, I only understand a fraction of it. Mi estas komencanto de Esperanto, but if I keep lernu open and use the vortaro here while I read, it really helps. Good Luck! sal.gif

I'm not sure why you want American news in particular. Is it so that you will recognize the news stories, to enhance your comprehension of it?

It isn't what you asked for, but a good online source of Esperanto news is Libera Folio. It's Esperanto news in every sense of the word - mostly news of happenings in the Esperanto movement. But it's well-written and it's a good window into the Esperanto-speaking community, which you won't find elsewhere.

May I also suggest this collection of links, which is very useful to a beginner. It's written in English, and has links to all kinds of Esperanto resources, including news sites (bottom of the page), podcasts, grammar references, places to download books and literature, and more. It even has some sites that I had never heard of before, so it has something to offer to experienced speakers as well.
