The publication date of J. C. Wells’ new English-Esperanto-English Dictionary was 01 March 2010. Does anyone have any info as to when the publishers are going to start shipping the orders? Like many of you, I took advantage of the advance sale price. No big thing. I was just wondering.

I got mine a couple of days ago so they must have already started. Keep an eye on your postbox!

Where would I buy this?

Take a look at this website: www.librejo.com/.
Click on the English-Esperanto-English Dictionary by John Wells. Clicking on the image will give you more info about the book. I still haven't received my copy yet but I'm looking forward to getting it.

I haven't received mine either. I don't know of anyone in the US who has received theirs yet, but hopefully it will come soon.

If they mail it using the book rate, shipping is not too fast.

I ordered mine from Amazon. They say it has shipped. I should have it in a week or so.

Does anyone know if there's an Esperanto dictionary with example sentences? Even this dictionary seems to only map Esperanto to English and vice versa...

Most translation-type dictionaries don't have example sentences, unless they are written explicitly for beginners. Monolingual dictionaries (Esperanto with Esperanto definitions, in this case) have example sentences more often than translation ones. I think PIV might have example sentences.

The online Reta Vortaro also has example sentences, so that's a convenient place to look up a word.

Thanks! I think I'll have to go through the beginner's stage using courses then malgajo.gif.

In addition to what Erinja said, there's also Wiktionary's categories and appendices on Esperanto.

The parts of speech section has examples often for individual word definitions.

Note though, being a free collective project, that it's still well under construction lango.gif
