NJ Esperantist:I'm curious as to what you mean by 'different'. How was 'King' spelled differently?reĝo was spelled rego. Also if anyone could find me a cheap printed esperanto bible let me kno2
I have two Esperanto Bibles (print versions, the blue and the red,) and there are a few differences between them. Some are typos and a few are chapter breaks.
p5soljah:I had a PDF of La Sankta Biblio and it had some words that were different.
Like it spelled 'King' differently. So I deleted it without realizing how rare a
pdf of the esperanto bible was to find on the internet. Anyhow I just found a
La Sankta Biblio that seems different than the one I had originally
downloaded. I think Its newer. If anyone wants it this is the link

you have to sign up, which is just a matter of giving them your email.
But I really suggest going to 'unbound bible' and making an Esperanto-English paralell
bible, its free and you can do it for any languages. Its so handy!
Also right now I am going through the book of proverbs in esperanto and I am learning
it really fast. I use the freelang dictionary on my computer. It is awesome.
Basically I am writing the book of proverbs by hand as I am reading it and building
vocabulary. I really believe proverbs in particular is the best way to learn a language.

As far as finding an inexpensive print Bible, take a look in a few used book sellers such as ALIBRIS.COM, ABEBOOKS.COM, or BIBLIO.COM. I found a few there by searching for 'La Sankta Biblio' The prices were better than a brand spanking new one.

I'm happy to be able to announce that today the "Aŭdebla Biblio" reached a new milestone:
70% of the Bible read and the recordings available on the net!
It also encourages us that a new reader recently volunteered to help, and intends to begin reading with us. We gladly welcome all who are interested in helping.
How to get started: http://personal.southern.edu/~caviness/AudeblaBibl...
It's also a big help to simply listen to our recordings (follow the links here: http://hw.cs.southern.edu/eb/), making note of any mistakes to correct, preferably checking against a printed Bible.
Blessings,
Keneto

Part of my goal in starting the project was to publicize Esperanto, so I'm very pleased!

Miland:One problem for Christians with the bible in Esperanto is that the New Testament is not available as a complete volume in the most recent translation (by Gerrit Berveling). It has to be bought in at least three volumes, which would be very expensive. Older versions however contain what seems to me to be a mistranslation of John 1:17. The Greek verb usually translated "came" is translated estiĝis, "came into being", which IMO doesn't make sense in the context. Has anyone looked into this, who knows ancient Greek? The Greek is parsed here
The word in question is explained here
