darkweasel:I have been wondering further about this. It seens unfortunate that the 'O' ending on participals usually refers to people. Logically you would think for 'anto'/'into'/'onto' that it would simply refer to the agent of the action. For example, if in context 'Hundo manĝas,' then 'manĝanto' should refer to the dog. If the dog itself was being eaten then 'manĝaĵato' sounds like food is being eaten not the dog. I don't like that 'aĵ' needs to be added for non-person agents (or objects).cFlat7:In Readmono 2:26 we find the word 'senditojn' which means messengers, or literally "the ones sent". If you didn't know the context, how would you know whether to understand this as referring to things or to people? I.e. vs "the things sent"?yes, senditajhoj is fine.
Maybe for things sent, you would say, 'senditaĵojn'?
participles with an -o ending nearly always refer to people.

*EDIT*
I got the Olive Tree Esperanto Bible, but was somewhat disappointed to find that it uses back-ticks instead of circumflexes or the more common "x" method. It's going to take some getting used to...

There are now 9 people reading for the "Aŭdebla Biblio" project, and we've read 25% of the Bible, but more help would be most welcome! Each reads at his own pace when he has time. Progress is not extremely rapid, but we are making progress! Sometime we will have the whole Bible in "mp3" audio files.
Are you an Esperantist, a Christian, or even simply someone who appreciates literature?
If you would like to work with us on the project, please write me directly at caviness@southern.edu. Only a computer with microphone is needed.
Instructions for getting started are here: http://personal.southern.edu/~caviness/Audebla Biblio - Kion fari (angla versio).htm

gianich73:Yes. Read La Sankta Biblio out loud and record it via audioboo. The link he gave explains it fully.fizikuleto:More readers needed!Sorry, what is the task? To read the Bible in Esperanto aloud and register it?

fizikuleto:More readers needed!A very worthwhile project. It would be wonderful to have the Esperanto Bible in audio form.

Like it spelled 'King' differently. So I deleted it without realizing how rare a
pdf of the esperanto bible was to find on the internet. Anyhow I just found a
La Sankta Biblio that seems different than the one I had originally
downloaded. I think Its newer. If anyone wants it this is the link
http://www.4shared.com/office/LIOWiAlH/Esperanto_-...
you have to sign up, which is just a matter of giving them your email.
But I really suggest going to 'unbound bible' and making an Esperanto-English paralell
bible, its free and you can do it for any languages. Its so handy!
Also right now I am going through the book of proverbs in esperanto and I am learning
it really fast. I use the freelang dictionary on my computer. It is awesome.
Basically I am writing the book of proverbs by hand as I am reading it and building
vocabulary. I really believe proverbs in particular is the best way to learn a language.

I have two Esperanto Bibles (print versions, the blue and the red,) and there are a few differences between them. Some are typos and a few are chapter breaks.

NJ Esperantist:I'm curious as to what you mean by 'different'. How was 'King' spelled differently?I wondered about that myself! I wonder if there was an encoding problem, and the circumflexes didn't show up (so the correct reĝo would have read as the incorrect rego), or else that the circumflexed letters were replaced with something else totally wrong (like our old friend in Latin-3 - I believe reĝo would be rendered as reøo in a page that didn't support Latin-3)
Hard to imagine Latin-3 problems in a PDF though. Could have been some other error in font encoding though.

The copy I have was originally in a Welsh library and still has its library papers in the front.
