In this video Fidel Castro speaks to the Universal Congress in Havana 1990 - because my abilities in Esperanto are text-based, it all goes over my head (well, not all of it, but not enough to make sense of it as if it a slow paced conversation).
What's the main gist of what he's talking about? I assume he says that he hopes Cuba will be chosen again as a country for the UK, and makes some jokes about the food there?
(I must say, having the leader of a country come to an Esperantists congress sounds like a rare occasion - do such things happen often?)

That is really interesting. I wonder what other leaders have been to Esperanto conventions. At first I thought you meant he actually was speaking Esperanto, but that is probably what the translator is for.
