Hello, friends. I was writing until now in the Esperanto forum about this. Well, I think that you, English speakers, must know about this too.

A friends and me are developing an online game, similar to eRepublik, but with some differences: under de GPL, no admins, a chat as main part of the page, and more things.

You can read about this project here and here. I'm sorry, but the links only have information in Esperanto.

Well, as I said, the game will be translated into the Esperanto language, among other (German, French, Italian, Polish, Russian, Georgian, Arabic, Japanese, etc.), which will help it be spread and used, if not in the real life, certainly yes on Internet. There won't be admins, all will be regulated by the law of every country. You also can develop the game or make another one because the code is free, under the GPL. And so on.

Well, what do you think? Do you like this? Will you take part in the game? I assure you that this will be amazing, amusing, etc. The beta will be released soon, if everything is correct and works fine.

Yes, maybe I am crazy. Maybe we are crazy. But we don't care.

If you like politics, if you like to govern a country, if you like to discuss because another country made an unfair law, etc., then this game is for you rideto.gif

PD: Excuse me for my English, and for my possible spam senkulpa.gif

Multaj da kuraĝigoj al vi kaj viaj amikoj!

This sounds pretty cool. The way I've understood having no admins is that the in-game countries in a way "elect" their own admins (in other words, administration is now a part of the game instead of a disruptive layer)? That's a nice idea.

Esperanto as a target language would be cool too, and the association with Esperanto would hopefully bring many smart and interesting people ridulo.gif (I assume politics related games only really have smart and interesting people, but maybe more for this one ridulo.gif)

If I'm ever bored at uni and not indulging my obsession with languages I might look for it when it's done to burn off some time (if I remember).

Thanks, ceigered. Well, I answer to you.

Mmm, not exactly. With no admins means just this, with no admins. If someone insults or offends you, you just have to press charges against him/her before the virtual justice lango.gif

You can do what you want, except multiaccount (that means, more than one count), and only if it's according to the law of your virtual country.

Mmm, in fact, a friend wants to create an academy of Esperanto in-game. And we want that Esperanto becomes a spread language, but without discriminating the others. As I said, that depends on the law of every country. If a country wants Esperanto to be its official language, very well rideto.gif

Only if you are ever bored? okulumo.gif

Jaja, a joke. Well, you are welcome, as well as everybody.

One more time, excuse me for my English.

This is exciting - so basically, it works like a true real world, where you can get charged? It'd be very interesting to see how communities grow, and also to see how people act in such a game with no admins, but at the same time having to work as a community (kinda)...
Only if you are ever bored? okulumo.gif

Well, not only rido.gif. But it would be nice to see this once it is up and running ridulo.gif

Well, it's difficult to manage or maintain a project with no admins, but we'll try rido.gif

And yes, every country will have a Constitution, a Criminal Code, some laws, a Civil Code, etc. And if you, for example, commit slanderous allegations against someone, and if that's crime, you'll be prosecuted, as I said shoko.gif Por Paŭlo sperto - por Petro averto.

Moderators will be called policemen.

Perhaps in extreme cases you guys in charge can sort of take the role of "Dio" when necessary.

"Bedaŭrinde, vi faris ion kiu povus nenioigi la mondo neinversigeble, do, Dio tondras je vi.

*bzzzt!* -_O

Gratulojn! Vi ĵus reenkarniĝis kiel papilio"

Mmm, maybe the developers must take part if there is an important attack to the system (the game is crashed by an user, etc.). But those cases are extreme.

If not, then nothing rideto.gif

Sounds like a great idea, similar to the online game "nationstates" if i am correct?
i will deffinately give this a go!

And about taking the form of Dio, the rock legend died earlier this year (just kidding i know Dio means god its just a nice coincedence)

I do not know that game. I've never played it.

And about Dio, one of my brothers was his fan. Here you are a picture of mine, and before me his poster:

http://u1.ipernity.com/15/59/39/8335939.5538b4da...

EDIT: I've already seen Nationstates. I totally disagree with them. I'll explain:

at that webpage you can read this:

It's free speech, so I can post whatever I like here, right?

Ahahahaha! Hahaha! Free speech! No, it's not. I run this web site, see, so you have to play by my rules. It's like my own Father Knows Best state.

And this:

What can't I post?

Any content that is: obscene, illegal, threatening, malicious, defamatory, spam

Well, I say you that in our game, you'll be completely free to say and post what you want. But, as I said, you will must follow the law of your virtual country, because if you don't follow it, you'll be prosecuted and sentenced (virtual jail, virtual fine or kinda sentences) rido.gif

Personalmente, a mi me gusta la idea. okulumo.gif

Let me know if you're looking for people to work on a French translation. I'll give you a fair rate as a fellow esperantist. sal.gif
