erinja:Hard to see how there could be a 'correct' use of trousers that are hanging below your bum. There's simply nothing to hold them up with, short of resorting to some highly uncool suspenders.Being the devil's advocate, I must say, it's also hard to see how wearing a noose around ones neck could also be worn correctly - yet business men around the world are quite used to this practice with their ties . The world of human dressage is just plain looney, and hardly practical. But in all forms there are generally "well done" versions which can be recognised by some as an art form, and just plain tacky versions with little thought going into it - because hip hop fashion hasn't diverged enough yet to become recognised as anything but tacky western style casual dress, I doubt that distinction exists (it doesn't for me at least). But I imagine some concepts from it may evolve (or may not), or may integrate themselves into different fashion styles, and by then viewpoints may have changed.
All I ask is that they wear something more substantial than just satin boxers under their pants!

I agree with your statement 100% that wearing one's pants in this manner is "a sure indicator of a moron".
Curious to hear what your take is on guys wearing pink shirts (another fashion anomaly that has taken hold in recent years)?

erinja: The world of adults is a strange place, and it is much more like the world of children than I had imagined when I was younger. I kept wondering when people would start behaving more maturely. Now that I have been in the workplace for some years, I know that the answer is "Never".

(I don't see much wrong with pink shirts for men.)

On another topic, I personally don't see a stylistic problem with pink shirts for men. However, I can personally attest to a workplace taboo for the same when working in conservative testocracies. If you understand the taboo and want to continue progressing in such places, then the rationality of the tabloo is irrrelevant. It simply exists and you don't wear pink shirts to conform.

Also, the most frequent wearer of pink in my office happens to be a big guy built like a football player (played football in high school, in fact), ex-Navy. He seems to like wearing bright colors in general. We're heavy with former military in this area and I've never heard a peep of complaint.
