Which do you think is most important in speaking Esperanto? Absolutely perfect grammar and use of words, or that you get your intended message across to the other person? Personally I think it is more important for the other person to understand what you're trying to say than that you speak with absolutely perfect grammar and pronunciation.

To get the feeling that you're babbling in the foreign language. If someone wanna be perfect in the beginning, someone will block itselves. So, accepting that someone needs to explain many thing longwinded and non-precise is quite normal at this stage. And it grants very interesting different ways to describes things if someone only has a restricted language proficiency first. It's all about practicing means someone should add personal experiences to the foreign language (vocabulary, grammar rules etc.). Making mistakes is a good way to memorize. So, don't worry. okulumo.gif

As a famous scholar once said, "... the rest is just commentary."

I would definitely agree with that, yes, although I am not purposely learning lots of it at the moment, just the words I need to try to communicate in Esperanto

I would strive to make your spoken Esperanto as good as you can. Here is a good model, and I'm talking about her Esperanto.

I agree, at the moment I'm concentrating on my written Esperanto, because I want to get as much of the language under my hat before I worry about speaking it in front of other people. I am far from fluent yet, and I think in a few months I will have enough Esperanto to not have to check up on words, etc. There's nothing worse for confidence than having to fumble for words or look though lots of books for the right word you need.

Another is Radio Verda by our own Aaron Chapman.

She is an exceptional model, yes...I enjoyed listening to her language skills immensely...around the fourth time I watched it...before that I was rather more taken with her lol

Yes, I can understand what you mean. At the moment, and for the foreseeable future due to disability on my part, I am concentrating on building up my vocabulary and working out whether I've put enough Ns on the of words in a sentence lol. I wish we had something similar in English so it would be easier to remember that! In any case, I am thoroughly enjoying trying to communicate with people in Esperanto, and so far I've not had a single person on here say "huh? wha?", which is always a plus ridulo.gif

She does have a beautiful singing accent, perhaps because of her affair with Spanish (I noticed the same symptoms in my spoken Esperanto). okulumo.gif

Nevertheless, she'd make a nice cover for our upcoming Hiphopa Kompilo Vol.2.

Gotta love your subtle British humor, my friend.
