There are so many lessons and exercises on Lernu, I need a roadmap. Can anyone offer advice on the best method and order of doing the courses? I know the variety is a good thing, but if anyone has a preferred method of using the website to learn the language, I would appreciate a step by step roadmap as to best courses on the site, and in what order to do them.
Many thanks for any advice.

Here is a place on this site that gives you a pretty good roadmap:

I have made good use of the Study Plan area under 'My lernu!' (http://en.lernu.net/mia_lernu/studplano/index.php).

I have studied all the Beginner courses and most of the Basic courses. The Beginner courses are quite quick to complete and will give you background that will help you make the most from the time you get with a live Tutor in 'Ana Pana' (Basic).

I have completed 'Ana Pana' and passed the Lernu! Basic level exam quite easily after taking those courses. I am working on completing the rest of the Basic courses before going on to the Intermediate courses.

In short my experience so far suggests the best strategy is to stay in courses at your current level and complete them all. Do the first that appeals to you most first. They suggest doing the first 3 lessons of each to try them out and then choosing one that appeals to you the most to complete to the end.

It is worth doing all the courses in each level, because they all focus on slightly different things. For example, La Zegrabo Metodo course seems strongly focused on recognizing and interpreting the use of compound-words in Esperanto.

In the end everyone learns in their own way and at their own pace. Do what appeals to you and keep it fun! It's easier to learn when you approach learning as play.

Good luck!
