I have to translate the word sharpness in a photografic context. Is klareco a good translation?

Thanks in advance.

On that list, the word "neteco" has gotten me interested in etymology of the word. For example, the English "sharpness" seems to refer to how heavily contrasted individual pixels are allowed to be next to each other (thus giving it a sharp/jagged/clear effect), but "neto" seems to mean "final copy" according to the vortaro.

Regarding "klareco", I wouldn't use it for sharpness in most specific cases because sharpness and clarity I think can be two different things (clarity referring to how easily things in an image can be discerned, and sharpness referring to how easily individual pixels can be discerned) - this of course coming from single semester course on multimedia from an incompleted previous undergraduate, and from an incomplete multimedia accreditation certificate, so I'm more going on the meaning of the words than how they would apply with actual photography terminology.

Klareco sounds all right to me. However Butler's second definition for akra is "(=klara): clear-cut, well-defined", so akreco should also be fine here.

Dankon al ĉiuj. Mi decidis uzi netecon. Ĝi estis malfacila decido ĉar neta kaj klara estas preskaŭ samsignifaj kaj eĉ ankoraŭ mi dubas lango.gif.

Ceigered vi pravas pri la signifo de neto sed por neteco ni devas atenti la signifo de neta ĉar la radiko net- estas adjektiva, ne substantiva. Rigardu ReVon.

Traduko -Sorry, I forgot we are in the english forum-

Thanks to all, I've decide to use neteco. It hasn't been an easy decision because neta and klara are almost the same thing and even now I have doubts.

Ceigered you're right about the definition for neto but for neteco we must pay attention to neta because the root net- is adjective, not substantive. Check ReVo.

Ĝis, Novatago.
