when I enrolled for their corespondence course. Its really good, has some 70,000 translations, and fits decently in a large matt-pocket.

1. McLinen is the first one that I thought of.
2. The old edition of Wells. Not to be underestimated, though I would now recommend the new edition, which is unfortunately not pocket-size.
3. Fulcher and Long, English-Esperanto only, but possibly more comprehensive than the old edition of Wells.
4. Plena Vortaro, Esperanto only, a 60s book as 2. and 3. above, but it's not much larger than them, and I've seen people carrying it.

Miland:I can think of four possible alternatives, depending on what you're looking for. Only the first is available new.Same one I thought of too , 'tis quite a bonnie wordbook. Not a bad price too looking at that page, it'd be wonderful though if Oxford ever got into the pocket EO dictionary business, their £4.50 Mini French Dictionary is going quite well for me.

ceigered:Looks like I found one for Mobipocket, but I've noticed mine is too old to install special character support. I'm using an Ipaq rz1945.philodice:I'm looking for a pocket PC dictionary I can load onto my phone. I have one for English and German already. What kind of phone?
