Some of you may be well acquainted with Wikispaces, a site that allows you to build your own wiki (e.g. like Wikia and some other similar sites whose names escape me right now).

(Example of a wikispace for those unacquainted with the end result: this is the wikispace for Nordien, one of those Germanic bridge conlangs. I'd argue their point about being similar to Esperanto in that their language seems as similar to Esperanto as Esperanto's similar to Aramaic... but anyway the site design is what I'm trying to demonstrate here)

Well, now you can use Wikispaces in Esperanto. The fun part about this is that.. well.. if you haven't already got an account, there doesn't seem to be an Esperanto language version for the main page, at least not that I can find or access. But, if you do have an account, just going into your account settings and choosing Esperanto as the main language changes your interface into EO. (I also don't know if your language on the site will affect your wiki's interface language for other users).

Perhaps soon there will be the chance to compile a fairly decent list of "mainstream" (e.g. not aimed at an Esperanto niche) websites that now have Esperanto translations. I know Facebook definitely goes on that list alongside certain Google services, but it'd be interesting to see if anyone else has any other such sites (not necessarily megalomaniacally mainstream, but just things that have traditionally not been aimed at any niches that Esperantists may have enjoyed to themselves).

Kaj ankoraŭ vi parolas en la anglejo

Tiu ĉi fadeno estas en la angla forumo, tial li devu uzi la anglan lingvon

This thread is in the english forum, therefore he should use the english language.

or are you trying say that he should talk in
Esperanto forums? rather then the english one

Kion vi pensas?

Anglejo = Angla + ejo

Ĝi estas estulta ke uloj skribas ĉi tien. Ĉi tie devus uzi komencantoj

- stulta
- skribas ĉi tie (ĉi tien = ~hither)
- "Ĉi tie (possibly better "ĉi tiu loko") devus esti uzata de komencantoj" (I think it's "de" there anyway)
I'm assuming you're saying that it's stupid that people write here, and that here should be used by beginners? In which case, the reason I posted this here is because beginners no doubt will find this a good way to study, by putting a website into the language they wish to learn (especially more so if they are familiar with all the different functions of said website).

A better response might have been that his assumption was simply wrong.

In 5 years, maybe it will not be the same !
Terrible internet police of Australia or esperanto censorship of watchmen would prevent you to post where you want, and to explain yourself (except for your self-criticism) okulumo.gif

I didn't write "always" generalizations.
