What language did this get borrowed from? Is the word 'troll' common in other languages or did it get added because so many countries use it as a word for "an off topic, inflammatory forum poster"?
I think I would like to use this forum to discuss how difficult it is to use the word 'troll' in a sentence. How long is it going to take me to learn this word properly? Troll, trolling...Trolo, Troleto, trolon...troleco? Is a person who is polite and informative 'maltrolo'?
Why can't some other word be used for this? Surely Klingon has a good word for troll.

Ne manĝigu la trolon!!!.
That seems to be Trolus troletus
Troletoj, from the word "drol", from the ancient language of the Lowland People of Northern Europe, somewhere between France and Greenland, are fury little animals with long tails, pointy ears, and an highly advanced narrow nasal cavity used for its mating calls in the spring. Or summer. Heck, they're like rabbits.
They have a penchant for spoilt leftovers of poultry leg meat.

Miland:Here's a wiki article on trolls in mythology. On the internet it has evolved into a term for a persistently mischievous and troublesome contributor.Wow. So, now I know. Thanks, people!
