Hi all,
I am attempting to translate notes for a korean language podcast called "Talk To Me In Korean". I have tried doing a translation of the first lesson of the course.

If you scroll down a little in that page, you will see that someone has done a translation for French, Spanish and Chinese. I want to add Esperanto. Here is my attempt at translating the lesson notes for this lesson into Esperanto:

안녕하세요 estas la plej ĝenerala rimedo por saluti iun en la korea, kaj 안녕하세요 estas 존댓말 [jondaetmal], ĝentila/formala lingvo. Kiam oni salutas vin kun 안녕하세요, vi povas simple respondi al ili kun 안녕하세요.

Ekzempla Konversacio
A: 안녕하세요. [annyeong-haseyo] = Saluton.
B: 안녕하세요. [annyeong-haseyo] = Saluton.

감사합니다. = Dankon.

감사 = danko, dankado, dankemo, dankeco
합니다 = Mi faras

감사합니다 estas la plej ĝenerale uzata formala rimedo por diri “Dankon.” 감사 signifas “dankemo” kaj 합니다 signifas “Mi faras” en 존댓말, ĝentila/formala lingvo, do kune ĝi signifas “Dankon.” Oni povas uzi ĉi tiun esprimon, 감사합니다, kiam ili volas diri "Dankon." en Esperanto.

Ĉi tiu PDF devus esti uzata kun la MP3-a sonleciono, kiu disponeblas ĉe TalkToMeInKorean.com. Bonvole ne hezitu kunhavigi la lecionojn senpagajn de la korea lingvo kaj la PDF-dosierojn de TalkToMeInKorean kun ĉiu, kiu lernas la korean. If you start the sentence with oni, then also say: ... kiam oni volas diri ...

Instead of devus esti uzata you may want to use prefere estu uzata.

Hm, I'd prefer disdoni al instead of kunhavigi kun in such a case.

I hope to see Esperanto versions of the TTMIK notes available at their website in future as a way of putting Esperanto out there in the public eye. If you know any other Esperantists who would be interested in this project, please direct them to the above link so we can collaborate.

Why not contact LEE Jungkee, the past president of KAEM. He is a Korean and teaches Esperanto in the university.

There is also Esperanto Asocian in Korea but is not much active despite my calling to help to translate into Korean for the Esperanto scoutmain page, with about 500-700 words, nothing is done till now.

Haha, thanks. Anyone who wants to help does not necessarily need to be a Korean speaker. They just need to be willing to either translate EN-EO or check translations on the page in Esperanto. The reason that I am asking people to revise translations is to get other people involved and also to get input about which words we should use to translate.

I have a few Korean Esperantist friends who would probably be willing to read my translations anyway. I don't mind who gets involved.

LOL, I love having ulterior motives! Nah, I really want help from Esperantists here to help out with the translation. No ulterior motives, I assure you. Besides, I think that doing this will help me with my Esperanto as well. And, heaven's knows, maybe some other people as well.
