Anybody got any good ideas how to translate into E.

I am referring to the type of radio programme that is so common nowadays, where the general public is invited to recount amuzing experiences in relation to a particular topic, or to parade their ignorance/prejudice in a dicussion.

I ask because I turned on the radio in the middle of the night the other day and encountered a discussion on how to translate 'World Football Phone-in' into French - and this set me thinking.

Silly me, I saw the heading on this thread, and before reading your message, I was thinking that you were looking for a translation of "phone in" in the idiomatic form, that is, that someone is "phoning in" a job, or "phoning in" performance (that is, completed a job with the bare minimum of effort, not really trying)

Phone in at the urban dictionary

But to answer your actual question, not what I perceived your question to be - I would probably use a phrase rather than a single word, and it would have something to do with listener (or viewer, in the case of television phone-in programs) participation by telephone.

"telefon-partoprena" is the simplest thing that comes to mind, without resorting to the kludgy "Tutmonda programo pri piedpilko kun aŭskultanta telefona partopreno"
