Have a question about using prefix mal :
The question is does mal prefix change the meaning of whole word or just root's meaning.
For example word granda means big, grandega means very huge, malgranda means small and what does malgrandega means? tiniest? or just not as much huge?

But in both cases you talk about, it's the same meaning because :
malgranda = small
grandega = amplification of (granda) = very big
So :
mal(grandega) = contrary of (very big) = very small
(malgrand)ega = amplification of (small) = very small

Mi pensus ke en la kazo de 'malgrandega' la ĝusta analizo estas (malgrand)ega - do tre malgranda
'Ega' eg-igas ĉion kio antaŭas.
Cetere, 'malgranda' estas tiel ofta vorto ke en la menso de la tipa Esperantisto ĝi funckcias kiel unu radiko (angle small/tiny).
Tamen se vi komprenas 'malgrandega' kiel la malon de 'grandega' la rezulto estas pli malpli la sama.
PS Se vi volas uzi la anglan por starigi demandon pri Esperanto, la etiketo estas tion fari en al angla forumo.
