It does sorta make sense though... E.g. "One name was mentioned at the conference that got my attention", then just turn that into a plural and you've got "unuj".....

Why does the first number not have the plural 'j' while the second one does have it?
The reason is that the first number (of spoons) refers to a single unit (a dozen, specifically), while the second number (of forks) refers to two units (dozens). I imagine that these items might have been sold in boxes of a dozen, so that the statement could also have said "Mi aĉetis skatolon da kuleroj kaj du skatolojn da forkoj."
