I was thinking of doing something along the lines of having the engine process whole chunks of text, where the user need only hover their mouse over any word to have the dictionary return its meaning. Maybe displayed as a speech bubble or something.

qwertz:Seems to be that the Reta-vortaro.de is GNU licensend Elŝuti Revo-rilatan materialonThanks for the suggestion. This is a nice dictionary, but it doesn't seem to be able to strip away grammar. Mian and miajn for example, didn't return any results.
